Lead Sterile Processing Technician

About the Job:
The Lead Sterile Processing Tech is the individual who is primarily responsible for all surgical instrument used in the operating room.
What You'll Do:
- Makes sure all surgical instrumentation is ready with operating room crew. Must work with multiple sales reps.
- Maintains precise inventory of inhouse, borrowed, and consigned trays.
- Inservices employees when new products arrive.
- Answers staff instrumentation questions.
- Provides Sterile Processing personnel resources.
- Decontaminates, prepares, and sterilizes equipment and supplies per Elliot Hospital and infection control rules.
- Steam and gas sterilizers, washer disinfectors, and cart washers are operated.
- Troubleshoots equipment. Follows documentation procedure. Notifies manager.
- Orient and train new hires.
- Uses computer data as needed.
Who You Are:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two (2) plus years of experience as a Certified Sterile Processor.
- Must be Certified Sterile Processing Technician. Certification as an instrument Tech is preferred.
