About Our Facility:

Our modern facility is outfitted with cutting-edge technology and resources, empowering our professionals to deliver top-notch care. The Respiratory Therapy Unit is comprised of a skilled team of 29 employees who provide round-the-clock support to a diverse patient demographic, including adults, children, and infants. Our unit is also home to a specialized Level 3 Neonatal team.


Position Overview:

The Respiratory Care Specialist will deliver a comprehensive range of respiratory services to patients across all age groups, following physician directives in various settings, excluding the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role requires independent functioning as a licensed healthcare provider.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer aerosolized medications, perform chest physiotherapy, and execute airway clearance techniques as per physician orders.
  • Manage oxygen therapy and engage in patient care discussions regarding oxygen delivery, leveraging respiratory assessment skills and laboratory findings.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret arterial blood gases.
  • Contribute to patient education and assessment, including monitoring vital signs and gathering patient history.
  • Participate in critical care teams, including Trauma/Code 9 and Critical Care Transport.
  • Perform CPR and manage airways effectively.
  • Assist physicians during fiberoptic bronchoscopy procedures.
  • Initiate and adjust both invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation in accordance with protocols in the absence of a physician.
  • Conduct apnea tests to determine brain death.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree and have successfully completed the CRT or RRT examination. A valid New Hampshire Respiratory Care practitioner license is required upon hire. BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment, while ACLS and PALS certifications are expected within six months. Preference will be given to candidates with Registered Respiratory Therapy credentials and NBRC RRT-ACCS credentials. A year of clinical experience is preferred, with proficiency in performing necessary procedures on patients across all age groups.
