Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s)/department(s) in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.

  • You will cultivate a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensure adherence to standards of care.
  • You will manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.
  • You will ensure a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.
  • You will stay abreast of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations and actively pursues efforts to achieve.
  • You will stay abreast of legal and regulatory standards and ensures compliance. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with all legal/regulatory standards.
  • You will ensure equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards.

  • You will ensure effective labor management, including position control, scheduling excellence, productivity management, and premium pay utilization. Maintains staffing to ensure appropriate patient care.
  • You will manage operating expenses, including the utilization of supplies and equipment. You will identify cost reduction opportunities and implements actions to achieve savings.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Registered Nurse
  • Bachelors Degree or other approved education plan required
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • 1+ years experience in healthcare required
  • 1+ years experience in leadership role required

St. David's Round Rock Medical Center is a 150+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and leading-edge cardiac care through the Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David's Round Rock.
