Physician Assistant

Performing initial medical histories and physical examinations on new and established patients at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, indicating clinical problems and patient assessment.

Providing and coordinating comprehensive care for assigned patients in any care setting, within the limits of this Scope of Practice.

Performing periodic physical examinations on outpatients and screening them to determine the need for further health care.

Ordering appropriate laboratory tests, consultations, and other diagnostic studies according to criteria previously established by the supervising physician(s) and the Clinical Executive Committee for Credentialling (CECC).

Provides evidence-based approach to medication management for Veterans with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).
Order and interpretation of diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs)

Review opioid safety metrics (e.g., Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP), drug screening, Stratification Tool for Opioid Risk Mitigation (STORM) reviews).


Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm OR 8:00am - 4:30pm OR a compressed tour of 9 hours with every other Monday off as approved by the service chief
