Cybersecurity Specialist III

In support of Program Executive Office for Manpower, Logistics and Business Solutions (PEO MLB), we are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist III with experience in supporting DOD Federal acquisition programs; knowledge of policy/ principles/organizational protocols.

The specific duties and tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborating with software engineers to understand and identify critical areas for security implementation in the development process.
  • Developing or implementing open-source/third-party tools to assist in detection, prevention, and analysis of security threats.
  • Design and implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments.
  • Develop and maintain continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines across multiple environments.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve the company's engineering tools, systems, procedures, and data security.
  • Create and maintain security-related documentation.
  • Developing strategies for security and scalability.
  • Publish and disseminate CI/CD best practices, patterns, and solutions
  • Build or maintain CI/CD building blocks and shared libraries proactively for app and development teams to enable quicker build and deployment
  • Design action plans to address CI/CD platform/tools/solutions' shortcomings and difficulties

Education/Experience:

Requires eight (8) years of engineering, computer science, or information technology experience including at least three (3) to six (6) years of Cybersecurity experience. Experience in DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) DoDI Possess DoD approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Manager, Level II in accordance with DoD M (i.e., CISSP, GLSC or CISM). Level I Familiarity Fundamental awareness and RMF familiarity gained through formal training in the development of one or more Security Authorization Package or past experience with DoD Assessment & Authorization (A&A).

AND –

Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related field.

OR – Substitution - High School Diploma with at least thirteen (13) years of relevant experience including at least one (1) year of Cybersecurity experience.

Specific/Preferred Requirements:

  • Must possess a Secret security clearance.
  • Proven work experience as a DevSecOps Engineer or similar role in development, operations, and security.
  • Experience in a variety of DevSecOps toolkits, including Ansible, Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Black Duck, Terraform, Git/Version Control Software, or comparable technologies
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and architectures (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Experience in secure coding practices and automating security testing tools.
  • Proficient with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with automation scripts and configuration management tools.
  • Align with technological Systems/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and industry-standard service management principles (such as ITIL)
  • Knowledge of DevOps Automation (TerraFrom, GitHub, GitHub Actions)
  • Familiarity with Amazon AWS policy, configuration, and security management tools
  • Proven capacity for thinking leadership and a highly creative problem-solver
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

Physical Demands:

This is a remote position. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is commonly required to speak, hear, walk, sit, stand and balance; regularly required to use hands and reach with arms. The employee may on occasion lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with or without corrective lenses.

Work Environment:

This is a remote position. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
