Job Description
The role of Senior Manager, QC Microbiology involves overseeing quality testing to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulations. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence.
- Manage the global raw material program in collaboration with Analytical Development
- Supervise the Novavax Gaithersburg QC Raw Materials team
- Handle raw material testing, disposition, and investigations of deviations
- Provide managerial support for complex investigations and lab system optimization
- Act as a technical expert on raw material specifications and microbiological assays
- Oversee environmental and utility monitoring of the facility
- Coordinate the testing of samples and assist in writing protocols and SOPs
- Provide training and guidance to the microbiology team
- Lead the QC Raw Materials and QC Microbiology teams
- Familiarity with FDA regulations for biological manufacturing
- Proficient in aseptic technique, environmental monitoring, and QC Raw Material testing
- Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of LIMS
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a cGMP laboratory
- Bachelor's degree in biological science with Microbiology experience
