Penn State Health-State College is currently in search of a full-time BC/BE core faculty physician for our Family and Community Medicine residency program situated in the stunning State College, Centre County, PA (also known as Happy Valley), home to the main campus of Penn State University. This role primarily focuses on outpatient care, with an emphasis on the Wellness and Behavioral Health curriculum for residents.

Our Family and Community Medicine program is dedicated to offering residents training in time-sensitive acute and chronic primary care that is thorough, compassionate, coordinated, and of high quality. We aim to provide a secure, cost-effective, patient-centered environment for the communities we serve.

The chosen candidate will become part of our regional team consisting of over 50 providers spread across seven regional practice sites. Our facilities provide a clean, welcoming, fast-paced, and bustling clinical setting for collaboration with a care team encompassing multiple specialty service lines. While our primary focus is on meeting the healthcare needs of Penn State University's beneficiaries and their dependents, our scope is expanding to embrace the surrounding rural areas.

The Centre County, Pennsylvania region is brimming with heritage and offers an exceptional living, working, recreational, and educational environment. State College, a vibrant college town, is a hub for sports, music events, cultural performances, and seasonal celebrations. Centrally positioned, it enjoys close proximity to major cities such as Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York City, and Washington DC. The regional airport facilitates frequent flights to Philadelphia, Chicago, Newark, Detroit, and Washington, DC.

Job Requirements

  • Medical degree - M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent and unrestricted PA medical license
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine Residency program
  • Board certification/eligibility in Family Medicine
  • Preference for experience in an academic environment
  • Capability to develop and oversee resident wellness and behavioral health curriculum
