Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and Construction Paver Operator to join our team. Candidate will account for paving equipment, such as asphalt pavers, road rollers, and compactors, to ensure the successful completion of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operate and control paving machines to spread, level, and smooth asphalt or other materials on roadways, parking lots, and other construction sites
  • Own the distribution of asphalt ensuring accurate thickness and consistency
  • Coordinate crew to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on paving equipment to ensure efficient performance and prevent breakdowns
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to identify any potential issues or hazards
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and the team
  • Collaborate with the construction team to troubleshoot and resolve any technical or operational issues that may arise during projects
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including materials used, work performed, and hours worked
  • Communicate optimally with supervisors and crew to ensure project requirements are met
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
  • Proven experience as an Operator or similar role
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • In-depth knowledge of operating and maintaining equipment
  • Familiarity with construction materials, techniques, and safety regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and able to follow instructions accurately
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements
  • Pass pre-employment/random drug screening and a PAT (physical abilities test).
  • May occasionally exert force of 20-50 pounds, 10-25 pounds frequently, or 10 pounds constantly.
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.
  • Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
  • Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
  • Physical stamina to work in various weather conditions
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise
  • Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
