Summary:


Custom Uniform Manufacturer, catering to the hospitality industry, located in Hicksville, Long Island, New York seeks a talented experienced Technical Designer.

The candidate should have experience with contemporary brands for both men and women's clothing.

You will be responsible for the creation of Tech Packs, which includes development of specs, garment measurements, fittings, and full grading specs.

Should be experienced interacting with factories overseas. This role reports to the Production Manager of the company.

Responsibilities:
Develop the first sample spec for new styles to be sent to overseas factories.


Creation of Tech Packs with sketch details, base size specs, construction details, pattern illustrations, graded specs, specific sewing instructions, trim details, etc.

Manage a complete spec history of all fit prototypes


Responsible for creating and tracking the timeline for oversea factories, of each sample item in production from start to finish, always knowing the status of each and able to provide real-time updates upon request.

Must have the ability to interact with outside factories and vendors regarding technical issues.

Direct fittings and resolve any fit issues.

Create diagrams illustrating proper pattern corrections, sending updated Tech Pack to the outside factory.

Communicate and approve label instructions and placements to the outside factory.

Perform QC tasks on all garments arriving from outside vendors.

Responsible for organizing garments arriving from outside vendors for samples and full orders.

Qualifications:
Must have 10+ years of experience in the garment industry.

Familiar with construction of garments.

Experience with Illustrator Sketches.

Critical eye for correcting problems with fit and construction.

Strong Communication Skills

Detail Oriented.

Organized

Focused

Team Player

Bi-lingual in English and Chinese a plus.
