SAIC is seeking to hire an Engineering Tool Project Manager to lead our Engineering Design and Development (ED&D) Offering within our comprehensive ReadyOneTM Digital Engineering solution to develop sound, repeatable methodologies and solutions supporting multiple programs across DoD, federal, and civilian customers. For the right candidate, this job may be performed remotely anywhere within the U.S.

The successful candidate will:

  • Invent the future of engineering design through a comprehensive solution set including CAD software tools, templates/start parts, reusable model libraries, custom code, and automated checking routines covering Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Design.
  • Manage a team of Digital Engineers to develop new features and sustain this comprehensive engineering design solution set as the product owner, owning the overall architecture, feature backlog and prioritization with allocated budgets.
  • Collaborate with other Offering Managers in Innovation Factory on common objectives and dependencies to achieve an integrated roadmap.
  • Develop, manage and status the yearly investment budget to implement the comprehensive engineering design solution including labor, training, SW, HW and travel costs.
  • Lead overall ED&D strategy and marketing efforts in collaboration with customer facing organization (Sectors, accounts, and program).
  • Lead technology scouting, develop and own the technical road map and business case efforts for ED&D offerings.
  • Support bid and proposal (B&P) capture efforts by leading development of tailored demonstrations of ED&D capabilities tied to specific customer requirements and objectives.
  • Support proposal efforts through creation and updates to the ED&D "playbook", describing key processes, key graphics, and detailing features, benefits, and proof points.
  • Support new program adoption of ED&D through stand-up, training, and hyper-care.
  • Lead user support efforts, user group meetings, and collection of needs for ED&D.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Must be able to obtain a secret clearance as needed
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution and 18 years of experience in design and development of complex systems, or a Master's Degree and 16 years of experience, or a PhD or JD and 15+ years of experience. An additional 4+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience with and technical proficiency in:

  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications for Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Prefer experience developing best practices, standard processes, templates etc... to support design.
  • Experience working with CAD within a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment. Prefer experience integrating CAD with PLM and deploying to a user group.
  • Experience decomposing challenging problems into discrete work efforts and managing to completion.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders, resolving conflicting perspectives through consensus building.
  • Superior ability to communicate effectively via writing, graphics, and in presentations (live and virtual).
  • Provide timely, relevant, and succinct status to stakeholders, up, down, and laterally within the organization.
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering concepts including the Digital Thread.
  • Experience applying Systems Engineering principals to design complex systems.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of engineers to tackle complex development problems.
  • Proven ability to identify and apply innovations to improve efficiency or performance of the design process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer experience working with the Agile development philosophy.
  • Prefer familiarity or experience with Model Based Development (MBD) and/or Generative Design.
  • Prefer experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Prefer experience with application of Immersive Tech, Extended Reality (XR), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) to the design process.
  • MBD
  • Prefer familiarity or experience with software release and DEVSECOPS.
  • Prefer experience with engineering development across the entire lifecycle from concept, through requirements, design, simulation, optimization, prototyping, production, test, and fielding/launch.
