Software has eaten the world; almost every company produces software in some form or fashion, so our addressable market is virtually every company on earth. We're going after every engineering team on the planet - we're starting with smaller teams, but there are literally hundreds of thousands of companies out there for us to empower and maybe only a handful (Google, Facebook, Amazon), that are outside our scope. We are building the DevEx platform to empower the world.

In 2022, we raised a $25M Series A led by Initialized Capital (Garry Tan) and a16z (Peter Levine), with investments from Haystack Ventures, Garage VC, Tom Preston Warner (Founder/CEO of GitHub), Geoff Schmidt (Founder/CEO Apollo GraphQL), Nicolas Dessaigne (Founder/CEO Algolia), and Oleg Rognysky (Founder/CEO ).

What you'll do

  • Run outreach campaigns to find potential customers, engage with them through channels like email and LinkedIn, and set up meetings with software engineering leaders and senior engineers.
  • Identify companies that fit 's ideal customer profile, focusing on those with growing engineering teams.
  • Use various outbound channels like LinkedIn, Slack communities, GitHub, and email to reach out to potential customers and generate interest in 's offerings.
  • Ask questions to understand potential customers' needs, determine if can help, and set up meetings when there's a good fit.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to showcase the value of 's developer tools to potential customers.
  • Achieve daily goals for outreach activities like emails sent and LinkedIn messages.
  • Once fully ramped up, schedule 2-4+ meetings per week, aiming for at least 2 to become sales-qualified opportunities where both parties agree there's a fit and potential to continue the conversation.
  • Log all conversations and activities in the CRM to ensure proper tracking and follow-up.
  • Learn about developer tools to better understand potential customers, asking for help when needed.
  • Organize acquired knowledge to effectively address similar questions from future prospects.
  • Share interesting or helpful feedback from potential customers with the team to refine marketing strategies and overall programs.

We're looking for

  • Proven experience in a sales role or outbound lead generation, preferably at a tech company.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with engineering leaders and senior engineers through various outbound channels.
  • Strong sense of urgency and adaptability, able to pivot in conversations to uncover unique business needs and pain points.
  • Proven track record of setting and consistently achieving goals.
  • Familiarity with developer tools and a genuine interest in selling highly technical products, which is necessary to learn 's offerings and the developer ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in sales tools such as LinkedIn, CRMs, Apollo, and others.
  • Team-oriented mindset, with a desire to collaborate with Account Executives and other departments to refine outbound strategies and improve overall processes.
  • Located within the United States, with the option to work remotely or from Trunk's San Francisco office.

This role will receive a competitive On-Target Earnings (base salary of $60-$80K + sales commission) + benefits + equity.

The On-Target Earnings* for US-based employees will be 70/30 commission split for base/variable pay.
