Main Purpose of Job

This position, which functions as a Social Work Supervisor, Health Services, Court-Involved (CI), within the Spring Grove Hospital Center, provides the supervisory level of professional clinical social work and direct social work services to clients in a special population in a health care setting. This position will supervise lower-level Social Workers, Health Services, CI.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.\r

Experience: Four years of experience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.�\r
\r
\r
Note:�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a�commissioned officer in Social Work classifications or Social Work specialty codes in the Social Science, Psychology, and Welfare field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following experience:\r
1. supervising Social Work Student Interns or Graduate Level Social Workers (LMSW)\r
2. working with individuals diagnosed with a Chronic Psychiatric Illness who are also involved with the Criminal Justice System\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Employees in this classification must have a license as a Master Social Worker (approved for independent practice), Certified Social Worker or Certified Social Worker-Clinical issued by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.\r

2.�Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
