Main Purpose of Job

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the�Maryland Kids In Safety Seats (KISS)�Program Coordinator with�the�planning, implementing and evaluating�of�in-person or virtual child passenger safety activities, and�serve as a Statewide Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Resource.�These functions are directly related to the agency's mission to protect and promote health and prevent disease and injury.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: Two years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources. \r
Notes: \r
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. \r
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. \r

Bachelor's degree;�\r
Experience with public health, education, communication background;\r
Current National Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification or ability to obtain National Certification within three months of hire date;�\r
Excellent oral and written communication skills;�\r
Ability to travel statewide;�\r
Ability to accommodate occasional evening/weekend work and work in various outdoor weather conditions;\r
Ability to lift/carry heavy objects; and,�\r
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.\r
