Summary

This position is located with the U.S. Department of State, Office of the Inspector General (OIG) which has statutory oversight responsibility covering the Department, the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), and the International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC). The incumbent serves as a Management and Program Analyst within the Office of Inspections (ISP) who is a member of the Planning and Communications team within the Inspection Operations Division.



Duties

This position is located within ISP and supports the mission of the Inspection Operations Division through development, implementation, and maintenance of ISP's annual inspection planning, the management of inspection documentation and briefing materials, and the management of inspection-related communications with the Department and USAGM.

  • Supports ISP's annual inspection planning and prioritization process. Develops timelines for inspection planning and prioritization, coordinates inspection risk analysis, and develops and applies a methodology for inspection prioritization.
  • Develops inspection planning and prioritization procedures and recommends and implements improvements for related data collection, analysis, and reporting. Works with leadership and functional subject matter experts to identify risk factors that will inform inspection prioritization.
  • Manages inspection related communications and is responsible for pre-inspection communications with all involved parties. Develops and disseminates inspection notifications and requests for briefing materials, inspection cancellations, and any other inspection-related communications.
  • Manages inspection documentation and briefing materials. Requests, collects, and processes inspection briefing materials. Maintains ISP's taxonomy for organizing briefing materials and applies metadata to incoming briefing materials to improve document management and retrieval.
  • Supports planning, communications, and knowledge management activities. Develops and maintains a central repository of inspection points of contact throughout the Department and other federal Offices. Compiles and reports quarterly and annual performance metrics to determine if ISP is achieving its strategic goals and objectives.
