Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack Developer

This is a full-time remote job that can be worked anywhere within the US.

The successful candidate will be experienced and excited to work in an Agile environment and will have experience developing frontend and backend. Our team develops or modernizes applications that run in the commercial clouds and the candidate should have familiarity developing applications that use virtualization, containers, and cloud services with a focus on platforms such as Java, Open Source, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, debug, document and test software applications as part of an Agile development team
  • Work with the business analysts to understand the requirements documented as user stories.
  • Work to create robust unit test cases and execute those tests to ensure quality products are created.
  • Work to identify and remediate any security issues with our code or supporting products.
  • Work as a team to provide DevSecOps support for our products.
  • Operate as part of the Agile process and participate in daily scrums to promote frequent communication among the team and with all stakeholders.
  • Work on multiple projects and/or tasks during any one time period of time
  • Ability to work independently with general direction
  • Participate in customer meeting and interface with customers as needed
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum five (5) years of relevant software development experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of software design and implementation
  • Knowledge of relational database principles and/or experience in database design, ability to create simple and complex queries
  • Ability to explain complex technical terms and systems to others
  • Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement in process and standards for the entire team
  • Ability to learn new applications quickly
  • Strong analytic and problem solving abilities and a strong work ethic with a "can do" attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a team/collaborative environment
  • Ability to function at a fast pace with multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply software support and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Strong organizational, time-management, verbal communication, and written communication skills

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Java
  • Strong Knowledge and experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries (Angular, React, etc.)

DESIRED SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Spring Boot, Postgres, AWS, Azure and/or GCP
  • Experience with container management with Kubernetes and Helm
  • Experience with containerization with Docker
  • Experience with CI/CD with Jenkins, GitLab
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
