Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and testing of mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as fire and life safety systems, utilizing a range of tools and instruments.
- Implement safety protocols related to regulations, chemical safety, personal protective equipment, and emergency procedures.
- Service various types of batteries, including Lead Acid and Nicad.
- Troubleshoot and repair motors, motor control circuits, and electrical systems in hazardous locations.
- Calculate power requirements for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical circuits, appliances, and related controls.
- Demonstrate proficiency in fire detection systems and perform preventive maintenance.
- Oversee and manage fire detection and suppression systems as required.
- Operate and maintain medium voltage emergency power systems, including generators and transfer switches.
- Manage Swiss Log tube transport systems, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Be open to receiving training and certification for systems maintenance.
- Support compliance testing and documentation for regulatory standards.
- Maintain multi-building fire sprinkler suppression systems, including specialized foam suppression systems.
- Exhibit proficiency in Building Management Systems.
- Conduct non-destructive tests and document findings accurately.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding work performed and system status.
- Interpret engineering drawings to understand system layouts and operations.
- Identify and resolve issues promptly, analyzing information and developing alternative solutions.
- Adhere to established codes and safety procedures in all tasks.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is preferred, or 0-3 years of relevant experience or training.
- Experience: A minimum of 0-3 years of experience in planning, repairing, and maintaining fire alarm systems is preferred.
- Driving Requirements: Candidates must meet the qualifications to operate a vehicle for company business, including passing a motor vehicle record check and possessing a valid driver's license.
