Resident Assistant

Works on a one-on-one basis with residents providing direct resident care and assists in residents' activities of daily living and scheduled Program activities. Incorporates the Best Friend program approach for those with memory support challenges utilizing a positive, can-do attitude. Provides effective customer service skills meeting the standards and culture expectations of the company's Advantage program. As a representative and team member of the company, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction.

On-Call

Pay: $

Shifts: 6 AM-2 PM, 2 PM- 10 PM, 10 PM- 6 AM, 4-2 schedule

Work Duties

  • Attends in-service training workshops and meetings as required;
  • Accurately reports unusual symptoms and problems of residents to supervisor;
  • Cooperates with the dietary staff and provides general assistance with resident meals and clean-up; set tables, serve meals, clear tables and straighten dining room after meals;
  • Supports resident participation in all activities related to food and meal preferences and maintains relationships with dietary staff.
  • Assists nurses and other staff, as needed;
  • Documents on daily records;
  • Assists with emergencies and with safety instruction for residents such as fire drills, etc. including monitoring the emergency call system, responding appropriately;
  • Answers telephones and assists visitors;
  • May be required to provide escort to residents in need of supervision on outside trips;

Experience/Training -

  • One year experience working with elderly requiring memory support, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
  • Must be proficient in the use of a computer for input of resident information;

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations -

  • CPR and First Aid certification required
