Summary

The Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist within the OCCA provides a full range of services in support of the OCCA communications mission and business objectives with employees and external audiences.

The selectee will leverage the full suite of public affairs tools to includes press releases, public affairs guidance, websites, social media, etc.

in planning, initiating and implementing comprehensive PA campaigns.

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:

*Position requires mastery of communication principles, methods, practices and techniques; analytical methods; and interpersonal relationships practices.

*Develop and oversee a comprehensive strategic and operational communications plan that identifies goals, programs, and activities to inform and educate all external and internal stakeholders regarding DCSA's missions and activities.

*Drive the communication strategy and implementation plans supporting DCSA's missions, and its business objectives with employees.

*Plan, initiate, and implement comprehensive public affairs campaigns to enhance the understanding of DCSA's programs among the general public and specialized groups.

*Implement public affairs tactics, techniques, and procedures to support and amplify the agency's priorities, missions, and organizational objectives.

*Oversee the formulation of press releases, fact sheets, talking points, speeches, employee communications, feature articles, and other materials that effectively communicates DCSA's goals to a variety of external and internal audiences.

*Review and approve the work of subordinate Communications personnel and is responsible for developing plans and programs related to agency mission efforts.

*Apply independent judgment in significantly adapting and developing communications outreach strategies and responding to press inquiries.

Citizens who reside or currently employed in the Washington, DC local commuting area, which includes the entire area within the boundaries of Washington, DC; the Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Carroll, Charles, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's, St.

Mary's, and Washington; and the city of Baltimore and all cities in the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the counties listed above; the Virginia counties of Albemarle, Arlington, Clarke, Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier, Greene, King George, Loudoun, Madison, Orange, Prince William, Spotsylvania, and Stafford; and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Fredericksburg, and all cities existing in the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of these listed Virginia counties; Adams County in Pennsylvania; Morgan, Berkeley, and Jefferson counties in West Virginia.
