This position is located in the Washington, DC Commuting Area, USAID Annex, 500 D Street, SW, Washington, DC, in the Bureau for Global Health, Office of Policy, Programs and Planning (GH/P3) at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).



Duties
  • Coordinates engagement with Congress on inquiries, questions for the record, briefings, congressional notifications, reporting, and hearings.
  • Serves as the lead liaison with the Bureau of Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA) to facilitate strategic congressional engagement. Attends and represents GHB at all in-person and virtual briefings with congressional staff and members.
  • Coordinates to draft, review, and edit briefers, reports, responses and other documents related to correspondence and engagement with Congress, and to ensure alignment with bureau legislative priorities and requirements.
  • Provides expert advisory support to GHB on legislative affairs and engagement. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and templates to streamline legislative engagement activities.
  • Provides strategic guidance and direction to the GHB to ensure cohesion and effectiveness of GHB's legislative engagement.
  • Advises and provides guidance to GH Bureau staff to improve their knowledge and effectiveness of GHB congressional engagement.
