Provides leadership to the team of Business Intelligence Consultants and external consultants & contractors who design, develop, and support the hospital's goals. Plans and performs analysis of hospital operations to perform detailed studies in areas of cost accounting, cost control, profitability, productivity, product lines and services. EducationBachelor's degree Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting Required Experience Approximately eight plus years of progressively more responsible including using data systems, as well as spreadsheet, word processing, and data base applications. Required and Experience in collecting and analyzing healthcare data (cost accounting, budget, decision support, productivity, etc.), including financial and management analysis leading to quality improvement Preferred andLess than 1 year Approximately six to twelve months to gain familiarity with the Hospital environment, department routines and procedures, and the full range of job duties. Leads both the strategic and operational BI direction for MWHC, includes identifying and implementing new BI recommendations as well as refining existing recommendations in alignment with MWHC's goals.Manages the life-cycle of BI initiatives, support the advancement and delivery of BI solutions, and manage BI support activities.Provides technical guidance and/or business knowledge and direction to BI team members.Plans and performs analysis of hospital operations and service lines as assigned; develops verbal, written, and graphic presentations required to effectively communicate findings and recommendations concerning staffing, organization, equipment, facilities, data systems, policies, and operating expenses.Designs mechanism for collection of data regarding such topics as workload, financial performance, etc. Interacts with department management and staff to become familiar with department and clinical operations.Develops and maintains positive working relationships with Leadership to ensure the work of the Business Intelligence Team is addressing the requirements of Hospital Leadership.Directs the development and production of key utilization metrics to be reported on a standard and ad-hoc basis. Analyzes, evaluates, and presents the data to key stakeholders. Develops a process to provide further analysis of specific items or initiatives as needed.Initiates new projects that benefit the goals of MWHC. Identifies potential project in specific areas, determines objectives and scope of projects, and develops plans to implement projects.Prepares scheduled and unscheduled reports for all current projects.Conducts operational and financial analysis of department or areas through interaction with department personnel.Assists all levels of management with understanding the financial performance of current operations and the impact of management decisions or other events on performance.Oversees the delivery of BI solutions, including universes, reports and dashboards, ensuring that the end product meets user requirements and comply with processes and standards.Organizes and documents findings and prepares recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, and changes; discussing and securing approval from management.Prepares reports indicating pertinent information to management for use in policy formulation, budgeting, business plans, forecasting, long range planning, and the like. Provides technical liaison services to management, other organizations and vendors.Assists in the training and development of other financial and operational and clinical staff.
