Summary

The ideal candidate for this position has experience applying a variety of mathematical and statistical principles; data collection and research activities; can communicate complex statistical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences; and has experience or an interest in forecasting and building predictive statistical models.



Duties

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will support the Office of Policy & Program Analysis, Enterprise Analytics Division, Analysis and Communications Branch. Typical assignments include:

  • Working with internal and external customers to develop statistical research and analysis projects.
  • Working within a team or as a project lead working with other technical and support staff.
  • Applying appropriate sampling and statistical methodologies to analyze, interpret, and visualize quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Aiding in establishing new statistical reports for consistency in external-facing releases.
  • Reviewing, developing, and communicating best practices for high quality statistical analysis project and modeling.
  • Ensuring accuracy of statistical modeling and reporting in collaboration with Department of Homeland Security and FEMA Statistical Officers.

Promotion Potential: Future promotions will be dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and administrative approval.
