The Medical Accounting/Purchasing Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Worldwide Medical function with financial transactions, creating purchase orders, managing department systems and tools, other administrative tasks related to operational excellence, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • SharePoint Management for Worldwide Medical Function
    • Initiate request for new Teams/SharePoint sites
    • Build new pages, update content, migrate SharePoint pages/document libraries, design visuals, and maintain sites
    • Serve as SharePoint site co-owner to operationally support business owners.
  • Maintain expertise in O-365 products to support operations of the department.
  • Process financial transactions related to vendor payments and expenses.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to gather necessary information for contracts and purchase orders.
  • Create purchase orders for medical affairs initiatives (including and not limited to supplies, expense reports, services, and reimbursements)
  • Obtain and review invoices for appropriate information/documentation.
  • Manage submissions to accounts payable systems.
  • Track payments to uphold relationships with vendors and suppliers though timely payments.
  • Vendor/supplier management and vendor creation
  • Understand vendor/supplier processes, procedures, and communicate objectives, scope, budgets, timelines as well as performance expectations to supplier/vendor.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounts payable colleagues for the timely resolution of any discrepancies.
  • Other administrative and operational tasks within Worldwide Medical

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience in vendor management, processing purchase orders, invoices, payment processing and SharePoint management.
  • Effective communication, writing, analytic and problem-solving skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency building and maintaining SharePoint sites.
  • Coupa/Arriba or similar system preferred.
  • Experience in accounts payable/financial management/procurement or related role preferred.
  • Life science/Medical Affairs experience preferred.
  • Strong operational capabilities, eye for detail and commitment to tracking and reporting progress.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, effectively network, and partner with internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks/activities with competing priorities.
  • Ability to thrive when working independently and when working as part of a team.
  • Well versed in process management.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $88,000 to $132,000 plus bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
