This position liaises with multiple stakeholders across Magellan Healthcare to provide specialized training programs to meet the learning and development requirements of each line of business. The performance of the organization highly correlates to the support from the training department; therefore, the director must incorporate innovation, ensure consistency in the delivery and application of training standards, and oversee the planning, prioritization, and development of new and ongoing training programs and initiatives that are consistent with the business' overall strategies, objectives, and needs.
  • Partners with training and operations leadership teams across multiple lines of business in the execution of the organization's key strategic initiatives related to operations, planning, capacity management, training, and resourcing to identify learning and development progression opportunities.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and maintains comprehensive new and continuing education training programs using different learning mediums (self-paced, instructor led, interactive, virtual, digital, and blended learnings) across the multiple operational departments.
  • Provide advice on a variety of training platforms, learning and development approaches, and practical training expertise based on knowledge of industry trends for high impact learning experiences.
  • Influence operational excellence through partnership with key operational stakeholders to provide counsel on new training initiatives and programs and additionally provide recommendations, standards, and expectations to promote innovation in accordance with the latest industry trends and practices.
  • Leverage data to monitor performance, predict learner success, and drive the right outcomes.

Responsibilities

8+ years of learning and development, training delivery, consultation, and advisory experience in a healthcare operations environment.
Ability to cultivate relationships and partner across multiple departments and lines of business within the organization.
Experience in strategically designing, developing, and implementing professional development solutions, including online or in-person training, skills assessments, and/or instructional design platforms.
Proven ability to build a business case and effectively persuade stakeholders on the efficacy of proposed solution.
Ability to develop metrics and reporting that promotes learning and demonstrates clear value to stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience brining innovation to the training & curriculum development function.
Demonstrated application of adult learning, instructional design assuring the application of effective training principles.
Ability to develop and advance a team(s) of learning professionals.
Ability to convert abstract ideas into concrete solutions, and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical
customers.
Proven ability to interact effectively with and positively influence organization leadership.
Ability to travel as needed.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
