ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services (FAA NAS ESS) contract. Join our growing team as an Engineer Level 3 in support of the FAA's AJW-1432 team. The AJW-1432 team provides support for the Surveillance and Broadcast Services System (SBSS). The National Airway Systems Engineering (NASE) Group, AJW-14, serves as the FAA's premiere level Subject Matter Experts for FAA National Airspace System (NAS) systems and equipment. The National Airway Systems Engineering Group is a national organization that provides second-level engineering support that directly affects the safety of the flying public. The contractors who work under this contract have a direct impact on the NAS and their accomplishments contribute to the safest air system in the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Problem identification, problem analysis, solution determination, resource identification, and cost estimation.
  • Solution design, development, integration, and testing.

  • Will need to understand how his/her technical area interacts with, or is affected by other disciplines, and will need to consider the objectives of external organizations when developing, integrating, and implementing solutions to diverse, complex problems.
  • Will define, plan, and organize assigned resources to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Will allocate resources to accomplish small work-activities within established schedules.
  • May act as a key technical point of contact for assigned activities.
  • Contributes to the preparation of management/technical reports, and may be called upon to communicate the overall results of a project or work activity.
  • Provides recommendations to improve work processes.
  • Provides guidance to lower-level contract staff to solve difficult technical issues.
  • Resolves all but a few unique technical problems without the intervention of contract management or a more experienced engineer.
  • Identifies and informs management of problems that require their attention.
  • Often develops and recommends techniques to address problem situations.
  • Presents complex issues that may affect the FAA's interest to high-level functionally diverse audiences with a range of technical backgrounds.
  • Provide technical guidance in the procurement of equipment and services.
  • Provide technical assistance in the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment and services.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Conduct testing of equipment and services.
  • Generate documentation for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment and services.
  • Develop, test, and deploy network configurations including routing and switching.
  • Establish and maintain equipment support facilities.
  • Assess the security status of equipment.
  • Provide on-site restoration.
  • Develop purchase descriptions for modification kits.

Assignments may require solutions that are to be derived by interpreting and extrapolating from situations that were faced in the past.
