As a Tradesman with Carrier, you will uniquely impact our customers, becoming the face of the confidence we stand by while ensuring their comfort.

Essential Task Description:
(daily tasks and duties)

  • Inspect airconditioning units to ensure efficient operation
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions
  • Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment; calibrate thermostatic controls
  • Install new heating, ventilation and airconditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation and airconditioning parts and equipment; repair or replace low and highpressure liquid lines
  • Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of unit and make necessary adjustment; inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps
  • Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems
  • Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; cleans coils, blowers, checks motors, and belt tensions
  • Assemble and install metal ductwork
  • Assist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and airconditioning systems
  • Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required
  • Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all workrelated duties safely
  • Work to mitigate potential risks associated with essential duties
  • Collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ Years of HVAC experience
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to enter into the Union and or currently enrolled
  • Push/pull/lift up to 50lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Principles and practices of Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and repair; hazard and safety practices common to the trade
  • HVAC controls and safety devices; appropriate Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) / chemical usages; tools of the trade; materials and refrigerant recovery equipment and procedures used in installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC systems
  • Computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to airconditioning, heating, ventilating, and refrigerated cooling
  • Sheet metal, electrical, plumbing and carpentry
  • Basic understanding of Building Automation Controls
