Data Management
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.
- Leading several large projects to develop and implement new data management schema;
- As part of a broad mission, planning and coordinating the development of data structures and access strategies in alignment with business and mission requirements;
- As part of a massive project, developing technical designs, identifying systems requirements, validating data sources, establishing testing, implementation, and postimplementation support procedures; developing user instructions; and coordinating the evaluation and selection of data management tools;
- Planning and managing the migration of databases to new technologies, such as the migration from clientserver to Webenabled databases;
- Planning and overseeing the installation or reinstallation process of several large databases, and coordinating with specialists in other functional areas to resolve connectivity, compatibility, reliability, security, and related issues;
- Applying all relevant patches, service packs, and security fixes, and implementing and managing adequate security at the database/application level.
