Staff Psychologist- Mental Health Clinic

This position is assigned to the Mental Health Clinical Center, VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS). The position at this time is based at the Glen Burnie Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) of VAMHCS but may need to provide psychological services at other VAMHCS sites.
Duties
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
This is an open continuous announcement until September 30, 2024. Qualified applicants will be considered and referred as vacancies become available.
Major Duties:
- Provides a full range of psychological services in providing quality care and multidisciplinary services in the Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) Mental Health Clinic (MHC) setting.
- Provides evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Problem Solving Therapy (PST), to Veterans with a range of mental health conditions.
- Evidence based therapies may include, as clinically appropriate, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Problem Solving Therapy (PST).
- Conducts evidence-based group therapy, psycho-educational, and orientation groups as needed.
- Performs the full range of psychodiagnostic services including assessment, biopsychosocial intake, and disposition.
- Consults with VAMHCS medical center staff and external health professionals in providing care.
