Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director of Engineering with a background in any one of these domains to lead our engineering team: Industrial Supply Chain or Aviation or Energy domain. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building and scaling large-scale Enterprise systems, possess strong technical skills, and be passionate about driving a robust engineering culture within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure the team's success.
  • Drive the development and implementation of scalable, high-performance enterprise systems that meet the company's requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and operations to define technical requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Establish and promote engineering best practices, processes, and standards to ensure quality, efficiency, and scalability across all engineering initiatives.
  • Foster a strong engineering culture focused on continuous learning and innovation.
  • Actively participate in hands-on technical contributions, providing technical leadership and guidance to the team as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and leverage this knowledge to drive strategic decisions and improvements within the engineering organization.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of overall experience with at least 3 years of experience as a second-level manager handling teams of 20+ engineers.
  • Expertise in modern programming languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, architecture, and implementation, with the ability to make strategic technical decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience driving a strong engineering culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Experience in building and leading lean engineering teams.
  • Ability to clearly articulate a technical vision and energize engineers towards outcomes.
  • Background in SaaS, or building multi-tenant platforms or services. Experience architecting technical strategies for platform products that can serve many customers.
  • Experience working with large scale systems and cloud native systems.
  • Good understanding of different cloud hosting offerings - GCP/AWS is required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in industrial SCM, Aviation or Energy industry is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a start-up or fast-paced environment is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment, with a passion for driving impact and delivering results.
