The Payroll Supervisor supervises the Prevailing Wage Payroll Department including all payroll processes, staff supervision and development, compliance, and third-party supplier relationships.

Bachelor of Science in Business or Accounting preferred

Requirements/QualificationsMinimum 3-5 years supervising an in-house payroll function for a company with over 1000 employeesExtensive knowledge of prevailing wage payroll requirementsProficient in Excel; intermediate to advanced proficiency preferredExtensive knowledge of federal and state laws governing the taxation and reporting of wages, including but not limited to California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, and basic Canadian payroll lawsKnowledge and experience with generally accepted accounting principles relating to payroll, laws governing garnishments, levies, and other withholdings from wagesBasic knowledge of Bargaining Agreements and Union ContractsAbility to travelExperience using a major ERP systemSuperior attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication skillsAbility to motivate and lead staff membersAbility to effectively interface with other departments and leadersPreferred:Construction materials industry experienceCertified Payroll Professional (CPP)Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
