Job Summary

This position may independently provide study coordination for simple and moderately complex clinical research studies. As a member of a coordination team, this position may help support a portfolio of projects with varying levels of complexity. Mastery of all job duties from the Clinical Research Assistant position is required.

Responsibilities*

Additional job duties include:
  • Utilizing medical record system (MiChart) to screen, recruit and capture participant data.
  • Data management (collect, record, and input hard and electronic study forms- data entry, and quality assurance)
  • Lab sample collection and shipment from various locations, simple subject reimbursement.
  • Coordinating study visits/activities
  • Communicating with participants and working with health care providers for recruitment
  • Assist with regulatory submission and study maintenance
  • Reporting weekly on subject enrollment and progress in studies
  • Call and email participants for study enrollment and follow up
Supervision Received: This position receives direct supervision and reports directly to CRC-Senior and Primary Investigator.

Required Qualifications*

Clinical Research Assistant:
  • High school diploma or GED is necessary
Clinical Research Technician:
  • Associate degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is necessary.
  • Minimum 1 year of directly related experience in clinical research and clinical trials is necessary. (Please review SoCRAs for qualifying experience prior to applying.) or An advanced degree in a health-related areas such as: Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Clinical Research Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Epidemiology, Foreign MD.Or Minimum 3 years of human subject experience (clinical, lab or health regulations) such as related patient care, related community health and wellness, related clinical information, and research.
Both:
  • Driver's license and car is must to recruit patients from various locations like Brighton, Northville, West/East Ann Arbor.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Checks own work and confirms accuracy
  • Demonstrates ability to resolve simple queries.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft software applications
  • Ability to organize/prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to set goals, promote teamwork and solve problems
  • Good attendance record
Desired Qualifications*

Clinical Research Assistant:

  • An understanding of medical terminology, experience in a large complex health care setting, ability to effectively communicate with staff and faculty of all levels, and knowledge of university policies and procedures is desirable.
  • Epic Experience is preferable
  • Research experience is preferable
Clinical Research Technician:

Work Schedule

The work schedule for this position is 40 hours per week- M-F, on site.
