Position Overview
Team:
As a Staff Data Platform Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role within the Cloud Platform Persistence group. This dynamic team is responsible for delivering cutting-edge storage API solutions to enhance our application platforms and address the evolving needs of our largest clients. Continuous focus on performance, reliability, and scalability lies at the heart of our operations.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Contribute to managing significant data growth to ensure system availability and responsiveness.
- Utilize expertise in relational databases for development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engineers to enhance performance and operational features.
- Successfully execute complex projects from initiation to completion.
- Proficiency in Core Java development and building modularized software.
- Experience in handling large data volumes on relational databases.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot challenging production issues across various aspects of the stack.
- Proficiency in navigating legacy code.
- Quick adaptability to new technologies.
- Consistent track record of completing projects within specified timelines.
- Familiarity with Unix shell.
- Thorough understanding of database technologies and internals.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles.
- Experience with Ruby or Go languages.
- At least 6 years of software development experience
- Strong background in core Java development
- Prior involvement in backend platform development
- Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Oracle, MySQL
