About the Role

Stellaromics Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Instrument Control Software (ICS) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying the PyxaTM platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute the full software development life cycle (SDLC) to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Develop and implement navigation and focusing subsystems to enhance the performance of our instruments.
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of hardware autofocus modules to improve image quality.
  • Develop and maintain instrument camera calibration models, including gain, flatfield, dewarp, and resampling.
  • Support the integration of Realtime Image Processing pipelines and UI development in WPF.
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal R&D tools and existing R&D systems.
Requirements and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience as a Staff Software Engineer developing instrument control software, thick client WPF, on the.NET platform.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing camera calibration algorithms.
  • 4+ years of image processing experience with C++, Ipp, Npp, or OpenCV.
  • Strong C# and C++ skills, with broad experience in the.NET ecosystem (WPF, Blazor, ADO.NET, MS SQL Server). Python experience is a plus.
  • Experience writing queries and stored procedures using SQL Server and SQLite platforms.
  • At least 2 years of experience with cloud application (Azure, AWS, Google) development: web API services, database access layer, Web UI development.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Git.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience building microscopy control software.
  • Experience with Cell Biology or Microbiology.
  • Experience developing algorithms to monitor instrument health and predict failures before they occur.
