PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Manage inventory for the South through direct interactions with Supervisor Work Equipment, Manager Work Equipment and system materials group within SSG. Specific responsibilities include Region wide evaluation of available materials compared to existing demand, charge outs, receipting of materials as necessary and conducting all required cycle count.

Responsible for the accuracy of Roadway Work Equipment inventory in support of Engineering Services, ensures adherence to inventory policy and that approved inventory levels are sustained. Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure an understanding of their requirements, manage expectations and deliver to both.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop, execute and monitor the physical inventory count plans and program/project reconciliation to ensure the accuracy of Roadway Work Equipment inventory
  • Identifies and develops corrective action for the underlying causes of poor inventory record accuracy
  • Manage the safety stock setting process, understanding customer requirements and extracting historical consumption data to support recommendations
  • Identifies surplus material in the field and directs relocation of this inventory to other facilities or to the distribution centers
  • Ensure quality of operations, standardization of processes and effective utilization of resources in order to optimize productivity and drive continuous improvement
  • Advises internal customers with respect to SAP, resolve customer service issues and advancing concerns as required
  • Monitors field compliance to Inventory Policy, recommends and executes corrective action and complies with SOX process, controls and audits
  • Participates in the development of the annual inventory targets for Roadway Work Equipment material, provides timely and meaningful data to internal customers
  • Accountable to monitor and ensure all requisitions and material orders are processed in a timely manner through SAP and that the inventory control system reflects a high degree of accuracy of company material on hand and movements in and out of inventory as well as inventory counts

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Must possess a valid driver's license (include if this is a position that requires a driver's license verification)
  • Supply management best practices
  • Proficiency with SAP and MS Office applications (Excel)
  • Demonstrated skills in communication, teamwork, project management, problem solving; data analysis, attention to detail and possesses strong business knowledge
  • Ability to take action in solving problems while exhibiting good judgment and a realistic understanding of the issues
  • Disciplined, motivated, self-starter capable of high performance with minimal supervision
