Job Summary

The OPS Adaptive Servicwill support the Office of Adaptive Services by performing front desk functions, such as answering and directing calls, working with the computerized schedule and records, greeting and directing students, faculty, and visitors, and assisting with reports and data management records. The OPS Generalist will also assist with test proctoring, tabling at promotional events on campus, conducting student intakes and providing accommodations, and assisting with technological functions, such as the website and Clockwork.

Job Description

Typical Duties:
  • Assists with intake and assessment of all new students in Adaptive Services
  • Maintains and updates a database of all Adaptive Services students on a daily basis
  • Assists with all test proctoring functions, including scheduling, proctoring, instructor communication and handling of exams
  • Assists with providing accommodations and services to students, such as serving as a reader or scribe, sighted guide, and facilitating note taking
  • Establishes communication between professors in all colleges in order to maintain reasonable and appropriate accommodations for all students
  • Assists with programming initiatives, such as peer mentoring, event tabling, study strategy workshops and other programming provided by Adaptive Services
  • Review and organize office data for reporting
  • Answers phone, directs calls, takes messages for office staff
  • Provides general information to callers and guides them to the website, as appropriate
  • Schedules appointments for staff
  • Assists with maintaining website and data management system
  • Assists with coordinating and scheduling accommodations for students
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding student records and case information
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office
  • Flexibility to work various office hours

  • AA degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Experience working in higher education
