Administrative Coordinator for Labor Relations

The National Air Traffic Controllers Association ("NATCA"), the association representing federal-sector and private-sector air traffic controllers and other aviation safety professionals, has an immediate opening for an Administrative Coordinator for Labor Relations in its Washington, D.C.
headquarters office.Under the supervision of the Director of Labor Relations, this position provides administrative support for the Labor Relations Department, including: (1) preparing and submitting, both electronically and in hard copy, outgoing correspondence; (2) assisting department attorneys in preparing legal submissions to arbitrators, administrative adjudicatory forums, and other third parties; (3) maintaining and organizing the department's hard-copy and electronic files (including collective bargaining agreements, memoranda of understanding, arbitration decisions, and other case files); (4) maintaining and organizing on-site and off-site storage and inventory of hard-copy files; (5) maintaining and updating the department's section of the NATCA website; (6) maintaining the department's calendar and assisting in scheduling meetings; (7) assisting the department in preparing for internal and external meetings, including but not limited to reserving conference rooms, preparing documents, and ordering and setting up supplies and food; (8) ordering and maintaining office supplies for the department; and (9) performing other duties, as assigned.
The Administrative Coordinator for Labor Relations is expected to have excellent communication skills, including the ability to draft written professional correspondence; to have a working knowledge of office administrative procedures and the operation of standard office equipment (at a level generally acquired through two or more years of related experience); and familiarity with a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and presentation software.
This position requires a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and demonstrated tact and diplomacy.
Some analytical skills are required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Candidates should have strong attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials; establishing priorities; and meeting deadlines.-
