Overview


The SG Creative Production Designer will support the production team in the smooth and efficient execution of various projects through coordination of pre-production, production, and post-production activities.

While the Production Designer will work with the Production Manager to plan and execute events, they could also serve as production lead and be responsible for ensuring other photographers and videographers are aware of their responsibilities on site and all assets needed for a successful project are captured.

The Production Designer may lead or co-chair intake calls, participate in planning sessions, equipment logistics, post-deliverable project organization, and asset organization.

The Production Designer will also collaborate on projects with other members of the SG Creative team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in the coordination of pre-production, production, and post-production activities, including scheduling, logistics, and resource management.
  • Pre-production tasks include assisting with client relationships and pre-production communication, coordinating and organizing production activities, ensuring that all elements are properly prepared and executed to meet project requirements, assisting with production scheduling, planning logistics, and resource management.
  • Will set-up equipment during on-site productions, monitor equipment, and handle props.
  • Will serve as the primary photographer and/or videographer for the production team.
  • Post-production responsibilities will include assisting in determining development timelines, editing photography, processing video footage, editing headshots, and the development of other related creative projects.
  • Will assist in training and creating training programs for upskilling new production members.
  • Maintain organization of data, project, and assets.
  • Maintain intermediate photography technical skills, intermediate videography skills, and an understanding of composition. Must stay up to date on industry production processes, equipment, and terminology.
  • Use various design and editing tools, software, and hardware to create deliverables that meet or exceed the SG Creative design standards and satisfy our client and stakeholder expectations
  • Assist with business development by finding, creating, and maintaining new and existing business relationships for the production team.
  • Work with the SG Creative Design Team to develop designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts
  • Assist with content development
  • Develop videos, photography galleries, design projects, and other creative deliverables that meet project goals, user needs, or industry standards
  • Develop new, interactive audio and visual design concepts and modify concepts based on stakeholder feedback

Continued Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute pre-production activities, such as creating production scripts or storyboards and establishing a project timeline
  • Identify problems uncovered by testing or stakeholders' feedback, and correct problems or refer problems to appropriate personnel for correction
  • Research and apply innovative solutions for product design, visuals, and user experience to meet the needs of projects
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in design and instructional methods
  • Manage, track, and maintain project administration through assigned software (such as )

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equitable experience/certifications
  • 3 years of experience in photography including technical skills and an understanding of composition
  • 3 years of experience in videography including an understanding of composition
  • Familiarity with production processes, equipment, and terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm to work with others to accomplish tasks, assignments, and projects with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to set clearly defined objectives and plan activities while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Manages time effectively and identifies resources needed to accomplish tasks
  • Ability to follow established procedures accurately and carefully for completing work tasks
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, organizational skills, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to continue developing technical and editing skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to express ideas clearly and effectively when speaking or writing to individuals or groups; listens attentively; ensures information is communicated in a timely manner
  • Ability to identify ways to improve yourself, the team, content partner deliveries, and cross-functional integration
  • Proven experience in producing short videos and sizzle reels using Adobe Premier Pro
  • Proven experience in retouching a variety of photography assets using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and MS Office Suite

Travel Demands

  • This role requires travel up to 60% of the year for production events and requires a willingness and ability to travel on a moment's notice for extended dates to capture content both domestically and internationally.
  • This role requires schedule flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor)
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 60lbs, standing for extended periods
