Williams College is excited to be hiring a Faculty Finance Officer (FFO) for the Dean of Faculty's (DOF) office. In this critical position, the FFO will report to the Associate Dean and manage the financial resources of the office, including oversight of DOF support staff in conducting routine accounting procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Review, analyze, and curate all of the financial resources available within the Dean of the Faculty's budget area.
  • Oversee the annual budget process for the academic departments and programs, Athletics, the grad programs, the Oakley Center, the Rice Teaching Center, and other similar units.
  • Manage post-award accounting processes for a varied portfolio of grant awards and sponsored research projects. This role will manage the billing, and accounting records for grants and contracts as well as review grant expenditures for compliance with granting agency guidelines and donor requirements.
  • Manage all of the Dean's unrestricted accounts, discretionary funds, gifts, and endowments that support faculty teaching and scholarship.
  • Advise and assist the deans with the implementation of faculty compensation processes.
  • Track spending within faculty research accounts, and supervise support staff in carrying out routine accounting work.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree plus at least 2 years relevant budgeting and/or accounting experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar programs
  • Portfolio Management experience required, preferably in an academic setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences
Application review will begin on Monday, August 26, 2024, and will continue until the position is filled. Pay range is from $75,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience. Job Grade 08. All applications will be reviewed by the search committee.
