As MASA's new Actuarial Associate, you'll provide broad actuarial and analytical support to drive sustainable, long-term growth and profitability. Your main focus areas will be pricing, rate filings, premium level monitoring, and claims analysis. To undertake this important new position, you'll need to be fluent in assembling data from a complex data environment, conducting statistical and actuarial analysis, making fact-based recommendations to management, and collaborating with business leaders from across the business to make enhancements.

What You Will Do
  • Reporting to our VP of Insurance Operations, your main responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining quarterly rate indication packages and communicating results to stakeholders.
  • Managing the rate review process and creating filing materials to adjust rates across 51 jurisdictions countrywide as required.
  • Developing analysis and reports to monitor and promote profitability by business segments.
  • Pricing of new products, enhancements, and jurisdictions.
  • Assisting in the development of advanced analytical and predictive models to enhance pricing and drive operational efficiencies in marketing, claims, etc.
  • Partnering and collaborating effectively with leaders across the business.
  • Providing analytical support on other business questions (e.g., distribution channel economics, lifetime value analyses, etc.)
  • Progressing towards your actuarial fellowship designation (if not yet obtained).
What We Need From You
  • Either a bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline like Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics), or 7+ years of insurance product or pricing analysis work experience.
  • 3+ years' experience with standard actuarial ratemaking techniques and insurance pricing.
  • A current ACAS/FCAS or ASA/FSA designation is preferred. 3 or more completed exams towards one of the above designations are required.
  • A wealth of hands-on experience with analysis and modeling solutions such as Tableau or Power BI, MS Excel advanced features, and a programming language like SQL or Python.
  • Familiarity with advanced ratemaking techniques, including the development and implementation of pricing predictive models.
  • A knack for clearly explaining technical and analytical information verbally, in writing, and in presentations) to internal and external stakeholders.
