Summary:
Provides assistance to patients undergoing sleep studies and treatment for sleep disorders.
Work Schedule:
Full-time position with daytime shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Setup and prepare equipment for scheduled tests
- Interview patients to identify sleep disorder symptoms and explain testing procedures
- Conduct tests and any additional required procedures for identified sleep disorders
- Interpret and report results of sleep studies
- Educate patients on test outcomes, sleep disorders, and available resources
- Maintain and repair testing equipment
- Exercise critical thinking and judgment with minimal supervision
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or GED
Preferred:
Graduate from a recognized Polysomnography or Respiratory Therapy program
Licensure/Certification:
Certified as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or equivalent, or Certified as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Minimum Experience:No prior experience required
BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer is mandatory before the start date.
BLS or CPR certification must be valid for sixty days following hiring.All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
(American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only valid upon hiring and renewals must be through an American Heart Association course.)The salary range for this role: **$38.70 / hour**. Compensation is based on relevant experience.
