POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of Business Intelligence Analyst will provide insight and guidance to develop and support business strategies, and drive future business growth through data, analytics and innovative technology.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Understands and applies trends in analytics by utilizing learnings, insights, and recommendations to drive critical business growth objectives
- Connects disparate pieces of information to find important patterns or anomalies, and utilize the information to help develop or support business strategies
- Identifies question(s) and issue(s), what data is needed, then analyze and interpret the results for business owners & leaders in a clear concise manner
- Analyzes data to identify insights and actions that could benefit or mitigate potential risks to the business
- Identifies new issues, trends and opportunities from data along with predictive analytics
- Explores new analytical tools or advancements, and additional applications for existing tools in ways that deliver solutions to the business
- Models adaptability and embrace new approaches when appropriate, discard approaches that are no longer working, and willingly adjust to change as the organization evolves
- Tailors communication style to fit various audiences, and seek and listen to the audience's point of view, perspective and needs throughout the communication process
- Understands and effectively utilizes analytics systems, databases and tools
- Embraces learning and shares knowledge across teams
- Brings new scalable solutions to business functions
- Partners with technical teams to troubleshoot technical and performance issues
- Evaluates, implements and oversees business deployment of emerging reporting technology
- Partners with IT to be a business advocate for tools and data needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field (Preferred: Advanced degree in business or related field)
- Five (5) or more years of experience in analytics, business or related area
- Two (2) or more years of experience in creating dashboards using Tableau, PowerBI, Microstrategy, Domo, or similar visualization tools
- Experience with tools and concepts related to data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data
- Advanced understanding of analytics tools and methods, best practices, and awareness of new techniques in analytics
- Fundamental understanding of industry trends for analytics in consumer insights
