As a member of the Enterprise Documentation team, you will work with other technical leads, supervisors, subject matter experts, editors, and Model Based System Engineer teams responsible for authoring electronic documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Help mentor fellow colleagues and drive high level discussions regarding work the team is doing by asking questions and identifying deficiencies in ideas to ensure that corner cases are identified
- Representing BAE Systems at fleet, government, and contractor liaison meetings, direct interface with our customers' and with internal management, coordination of production and distribution schedules
- Help prioritize work and ensure that the correct activities are accomplished and sequenced at the right time
- Researching or investigating answers to questions
- Benchmark processes ensuring best practices are implemented and followed
- Interpreting system level documentation and the interaction with subsystems
- Participating in S1000D working groups
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent work related experience
- Familiarity with S1000D, XML, Python, Visual Basic, and DTD
- Understanding IETM development in S1000D and Vulcan
- Familiarity with DoD documentation classification levels (e.g., requirements, portion markings, and derivation)
- Strong interpersonal skills, must be able to coordinate with all staff levels and across all departments to produce timely, high quality documentation
- Possess experience in documentation/word processing systems (e.g., Adobe [InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat Professional], Microsoft Office Suite [Word, PowerPoint, and Visio], Arbortext, Vulcan, XML text editing etc.)
- Experience with electronic documentation distribution
- Experience with development, maintenance, and/or improvement of complex processes
- Experience speaking in a public forum
- Experience functioning as a virtual team leader collaborating with other team members to meet strict project timelines
- Demonstrated experience monitoring and controlling execution schedules with resource balancing maintaining deadlines
- Ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the team members and the customer
- Ability to interpret and incorporate Trouble Failure Report/Corrective Action Report documentation changes into paper-based and electronic manuals
- Experience applying critical thinking skills in a team environment on a process improvement project
- Eligible for high level DoD Security Clearance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform documentation coordination and production activities with specific attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with Cyber Security and Information Assurance concepts that could be applied to documentation development
- Knowledge of the TRIDENT II Strategic Weapon System (SWS) and/or Attack Weapon System (AWS) programs
- Awareness of U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Program organization and key staff
- Certification: Security+ (must be able to obtain within 6 month of employment)
- Bachelor's Degree and at least 6 years of position related work experience; OR equivalent position related work experience.
- An IAT II certification as specified in the DoD 8570
- Or, have a SECNAV 5239 qualifying degree AND meet the requirements for an IAT II as specified in the DoD 8570 within 6 months of start date
- Experience with documentation configuration management
- Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering skills and toolsets
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $215270
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
