Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Dr. Matthew Roberts

Overview:
Hospital for Special Surgery, #1 in Orthopedics for the last 14 years, is currently looking for a Full Time Physician Assistant./Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Roberts is the chief of the Foot and Ankle Service at HSS. He is board certified and has been in practice since 2003, specializing in the repair of foot and ankle injuries, as well as the reconstruction of deformities such as bunions, hammertoes, flatfeet, and high-arched feet. The position consists of seeing patients for initial and follow-up visits, and office work.
The PA/NP will serve as a primary assistant to the doctor. Duties will include clinical evaluation of patients in the office, counseling patients and their families regarding proposed surgical procedures as well as addressing pre-and post-operative patient questions and concerns. There are no weekend shifts or overnight call, however, effective communication with the outpatient staff and inpatient hospital teams is essential. The PA/NP will interact closely with office staff, other APPs, patients and families to be an integral part of providing a high level of clinical care and service.
Qualifications:Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) NPs/PAs are committed to personalized, high-quality healthcare and are held to the same legal and ethical standards of care as physicians and surgeons.
Nurse Practitioner:
- Obtains/Maintains NP licenses in New York
- Obtains/Maintains board certification as a FNP in specialty area of practice
- BLS and ACLS via American Heart Association
- Infection Control Certificate
Physician Assistant:
- Obtains/Maintains PA license in New Jersey and New York
- Obtains/Maintains current NCCPA certification
- BLS and ACLS via American Heart Association
- Candidate must have current Infection Control Certification and have completed a child abuse recognition course.
Both:
- Utilizes evidence-based practice
- Committed to best practices; maintains clinical competency
- Promotes quality healthcare; seeks to improve and impact clinical outcomes
- Engaged in self directed continued learning and professional development
- Leads and participates in both professional and lay healthcare forums, conducts research, and applies findings to clinical practice
Previous experience in orthopedics is highly desired but not required.

Pay Range - Minimum:
USD $139,012.45/Yr.
Pay Range - Maximum:
USD $160,012.45/Yr.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
