\tThe primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Scientist, are:\r

\tYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\r

\t\tWork in a controlled environment setting with a focus on wheat research \r
\t\r
\t\tUse database workflow IT tools, such as Apollo and Velocity based programs \r
\t\r
\t\tResponsible for carrying out discovery research independently or in partnership with scientists\r
\t\r
\t\tResponsible for executing research experiments and plans as designed; \r
\t\r
\t\tResponsible for collecting and generating high quality research data; \r
\t\r
\t\tResponsible for organizing and recording experiment notes/best practice documents in a timely manner; \r
\t\r
\t\tSummarize and report or communicate research outcomes; \r
\t\r
\t\tResponsible for equipment maintenance and training on standard operating procedures on the use of lab equipment; \r
\t\r
\t\tResponsible to help ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available when needed for research experiments;\r
\t\r
\t\tCollaborate with scientists to set the experimental priorities and ensure successful execution of day-to-day research tasks;\r
\t\r
\t\tActively troubleshoot and problem-solve to optimize research procedures.\r

\tPreferred Qualifications:

\t\tHigh school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 12 years relevant experience;\r

\t\tBS with 4+ years relevant experience OR MS with 1+ years relevant experience; \r

\t\tHas primary responsibility for a specialized laboratory technology;\r
\t\r
\t\tIntensive hands-on experience in controlled environments setting and experience in wheat research are highly desirable;\r
\t\r
\t\tProficiency with database workflow Inormation Technology tools, such as Apollo and Velocity based programs, is essential;\r
\t\r
\t\tComputer proficiency with Microsoft Office and R is a plus;\r
\t\r
\t\tResponsible for carrying out discovery research independently or in partnership with scientists;\r
\t\r
\t\tPrepares reports of an analytical and interpretative nature;\r
\t\r
\t\tCan train and may supervise others in specialized area;\r
\t\r
\t\tInteracts with others within specialized area. Skilled in organizing and reporting specialized reports;\r
\t\r
\t\tRoutine problem solving requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning of diverse procedures within specialized laboratory technology;\r
\t\r
\t\tConducts complex activities that require the application of specialized scientific techniques;\r
\t\r
\t\tTakes initiative in keeping current with developments in specialized area.\r
