Here's What You Will Be Doing

Are you a seasoned Mobile Platform Engineer with a passion for developing cutting-edge game engine technologies, specifically for iOS? Join the Fortnite Technology Team to collaborate with the latest Unreal software and mobile hardware to design and implement platform APIs, lead cross-platform API development, and ensure robust platform support for Fortnite's expanding market presence. If you are an experienced engineer seeking growth opportunities and the chance to contribute to engine and feature development, we want to hear from you.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Addressing and resolving challenges to enhance the performance of Unreal Engine on modern iOS devices, focusing on areas like:
    • Optimizing device-specific CPU and GPU performance and compatibility
    • Enhancing platform toolchains including compiler/linker support, SDK upgrades, and platform-specific tools
    • Improving low-level systems interfacing with platform APIs such as memory allocators, file systems, and input systems
    • Enhancing rendering performance and device compatibility in Metal, including the shader pipeline
  • Collaborating with Apple to advance iOS as a game development platform
  • Working with various Epic teams, like Fortnite mobile engineering, to resolve complex technical issues and elevate product stability and quality
  • Contributing to the adaptation and enhancement of the engine for future mobile hardware
We Are Seeking
  • 3+ years of professional experience in iOS/Objective-C/C++ game development or related fields
  • Strong background in various engineering aspects of shipping games or real-time visualization systems, with a focus on low-level code and optimization
  • Proficiency in development tools and profiling on modern systems, including engine-level and platform-specific profiling tools
  • Extra points for familiarity with Unreal Engine on mobile platforms, particularly in C++ using the iOS SDK
