Job Duties and Responsibilities:

This role is onsite at Saint Louis, Missouri.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Sr. Developer for the role of Sr. Associate - Projects with 6 to 10 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Apache Spark Apache Hadoop Hive Scala and AWS. This role involves developing and optimizing big data solutions ensuring high performance and scalability. The candidate will contribute to innovative projects that drive the companys mission forward.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Develop and optimize big data solutions using Apache Spark Apache Hadoop and Hive to ensure high performance and scalability.

· Implement data processing workflows and pipelines using Scala and AWS to handle large volumes of data efficiently.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

· Provide technical expertise and guidance on best practices for big data technologies and cloud-based solutions.

· Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

· Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to big data processing and cloud infrastructure.

· Monitor and maintain the performance of big data applications to ensure they meet business requirements.

· Develop and maintain documentation for data processing workflows technical designs and operational procedures.

· Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in big data technologies and cloud computing.

· Participate in the design and architecture of scalable and reliable big data solutions.

· Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

· Provide mentorship and support to junior developers and team members.

· Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

· Possess strong experience in Apache Spark Apache Hadoop and Hive for big data processing.

· Demonstrate proficiency in Scala programming language for developing data processing workflows.

· Have hands-on experience with AWS services for cloud-based data solutions.

· Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

· Show strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

· Display a deep understanding of data security and compliance requirements.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 108,000 USD – $ 123,000 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
