Job Description

OVERVIEW
General Mills is seeking a Decision Sciences Manager to work in our Commercial, Measurement, and Revenue Analytics (CMRA) Decision Sciences team. The Decision Sciences team provides strategic business analytics that enable business teams to better understand data, extract insights and identify potential actions to take related to strategic business questions.

This position is focused on building, scaling, and maintaining our Predictive and Scenario Intelligence capabilities and team to identify strategic growth opportunities. These capabilities include predictive forecasting, econometrics, and strategic performance analytics.

We are looking for an exceptional person who is passionate about data science, predictive analytics, and machine learning technologies (data exploration, sampling, training data generation, feature engineering, model building, and performance evaluation). As part of the Decision Sciences team, you will apply analytical rigor, critical thinking, and creativity to solve complex issues while working with business teams. This will require leveraging external partners, working with peers in the Decision Sciences team, and partnering with end business users to develop a world class ecosystem.

As part of the Decision Sciences team, you will have the unique opportunity to grow your business acumen, storytelling, and cross-functional leadership skills in the data and analytics space, while influencing strategic decisions. A successful candidate will have the right blend of delivering on stakeholder needs, managing a highly technical team, and turning analytics into action.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

We are looking for someone to help further our data and decision science capabilities and strategic analysis to deliver business growth. The right candidate will have demonstrated business and technical experience and can lead the team and the continued growth of our capabilities and insights that align with our strategic business decisions. This would include:
* Grow, lead, and coordinate a team of industry leading data scientists and technical experts based in the US and Mumbai within our Predictive and Scenario Intelligence pillar, an integral part of our Growth Analytics
* Understand business strategies and problems, translate to data science approaches, and align and coordinate resources to build capabilities or provide advanced analysis that accelerate our growth
* Develop and leverage sound models, segmentations, time series forecasts, or analyses, to produce impactful business capabilities and insights that can be scaled and applied across global business landscape
* Effectively translate and communicate actionable insights and capabilities to all levels of the organization that drive business decisions and strategies, ensuring analytics are understood and leveraged
* Generate and combine insights from large and/or disparate data sources
* Partner closely with cross-functional and enterprise teams to drive collaboration, efficiency, and enterprise impact
* Stay abreast of latest advances in data science, economics, and analytics, identifying opportunities within General Mills for application
* Mentoring others in methods, storytelling, and partnership-building

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Master's degree in Data Science or similar analytics discipline (i.e. Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, etc.) or MBA
* 5+ years in data science or marketing analytics roles, building or leveraging advanced analytics, statistical, and machine learning methods
* 3+ years leading cross-functional project teams and capable of working with highly technical teams - can translate business needs to requirements against which technical resources can execute
* Demonstrated experience translating complex analytics and results back to the business in a simple manner, turning analytics into actionable business strategies, and delivering on business objectives
* Demonstrated experience of partnering with stakeholders and creating and maintaining strong relationships
* Agility to deliver with sense of urgency, consistently meeting tight timelines
* Experience building the expertise of others through coaching and mentoring
* Proficient with R, Python and SQL scripting languages

PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS
* Econometrics and global business strategy and financial experience
* Experience working on a global team with remote team members
* Working in Agile Project Management
* Prior experience working with Strategy and Growth teams
* Prior experience working in the Consumer Packaged Goods or Retail industry
* Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud based system
* Experience and understanding of syndicated data, including Point of Sales and panel: Nielsen, IRI, etc.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $ $ / Annually. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
