Supervisory Information Technology Specialist

This position is located in the Chief Information Office, Science and Technology Directorate (S& T), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for a wide range of computer programming, analysis, network, and/or equipment assignments.
Duties
As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, GS , your typical work assignments may include:
- Exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
- Developing and documenting requirements to provide secure and effective state-of-the art communications and IT systems that employ best engineering practices and satisfy organizational security standards.
- Coordinating and ensuring that all Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support services, which support desktop, LAN and WAN environments, are provisioned on a recurring and consistent basis across the S&T user community.
- Managing the implementation of mid- and long-range projects across hardware, network and software systems, which expand and enhance the IT environment for the S&T organization.
- Discharging security responsibilities by ensuring education and compliance with security directives for employees with access to
classified or sensitive material. - Documenting user requirements: researching applicable tools, presenting options and pursuing technology that benefits the entire organization.
