Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive individual to oversee the environmental management system at our Farmerville complex and associated live operation facilities. The role involves implementing and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations at both federal and state levels, in addition to internal company standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute compliance with various environmental programs and regulations.
  • Supervise internal compliance standards at assigned facilities.
  • Provide guidance on site performance against environmental policies.
  • Ensure proper training and awareness of environmental responsibilities among team members.
  • Analyze and address environmental performance metrics.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
  • Oversee environmental tasks conducted by external parties.
  • Build strong relationships with plant personnel to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Participate in risk assessments and audits.
  • Ensure adherence to record retention guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance databases and equipment logs.
  • Identify process improvements and facilitate root cause analyses.
  • Stay updated on state and local environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities when necessary.
  • Offer expertise, best practices, and training to support environmental compliance.
  • Implement enhancements in compliance standards and documentation.
  • Support wastewater operations compliance.
  • Assist in permit applications for environmental programs.
  • Lead spill response and remediation efforts onsite.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.
This position will report to the Farmerville Complex Manager with indirect reporting to the Director of Environmental.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in natural science, environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in environmental roles or manufacturing plant operations.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance databases.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Special Skills: Exceptional leadership, project management, and collaboration abilities.
  • Supervisory Responsibility: None
  • Travel: Required to visit facilities within the designated area.
