Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Live Poultry Handler to join our team at Foster Farms. As a Live Poultry Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of live chickens in our processing facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hanging Live Chickens: You will be responsible for hanging live chickens on shackles at shoulder height, ensuring they are secure and comfortable.
  • Cage Management: You will be responsible for ensuring all cages are empty and returned to the Forklift Operator in a timely manner.
  • Adherence to Policies: You will be responsible for adhering to all Foster Farms policies and procedures, as well as animal welfare laws and regulations.
  • Teamwork: You will be working closely with other employees in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: You must be able to stand for several hours at a time, work in a dimly lit environment, and lift and climb as needed.
  • Communication Skills: You must have good written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and management.
  • Availability: You must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Environmental Adaptability: You must be able to work in a controlled environment with varying temperatures.
