Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to direct the daily operations of both the food services and dietetic programs within the Dietary Department and supervise the employees responsible for each division. This position plans, organizes, evaluates, manages and directs all activities within the department including provision of meals and clinical nutrition services for the hospital population.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice under the licensing requirements for Nutritionists and Dietitians.\r

Experience: Five years of experience providing professional nutrition or dietetic services which includes three years in a residential or hospital setting and two years managing a clinical and administrative phase of a dietetic program.�\r
\r
\r
Notes:�\r
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of dietetics, nutrition, institutional administration or other related field may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience.�\r
\r
\r
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Dietitian and Nutritionist classifications or Dietitian and Nutritionist specialty codes in the Dietitian field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r
\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Dietitian/Nutritionist from the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice.\r

2. Candidates for positions in this classification must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) prior to completion of probationary period and must maintain a current registration during their time of employment. Candidates who are currently registered should submit proof of CDR registration with application.\r
\r
